PalmerSport is renowned as the best corporate motorsport event in the world. Participants drive an unrivalled collection of high performance sports cars and open-top racing cars on four purpose-built circuits at Bedford Autodrome. The eight-activity programme includes live timing and scoring, an awards presentation, and a first-class lunch and afternoon tea. Many participants later say that they remember the day as one of the most exhilarating of their lives.
My copywriting and editing
With a day at PalmerSport costing up to £800 per person, the event sells (very successfully) to corporations who invest in relationship-building with clients, and to private individuals who can afford to indulge their love of fast cars. These are people accustomed to very high standards. That means everything about PalmerSport must be excellent – including the sales brochure.
As the brochure is direct-mailed to sales prospects every year, its content and presentation is refreshed annually. For the 2015 brochure it was my task to extensively edit the existing copy, improving the quality and consistency of its style; to update many parts of the text by rewriting them; and to write a significant amount of new copy.
